The good and the bad:
Haylie, PTC Assistant: The bad.. The possibility of things going wrong was pretty bad. On the day you want everything to be perfect, there’s always that evil little thought in the back of your mind saying “oh god, I really hope nothing bad happens.” Also, bugs. Especially during the summer time. I personally don’t hate bugs, I think they’re cute, but a lot of guests in nice clothes don’t particularly favor creepy crawlers or mosquitos during outdoor weddings.
Megan, PTC Assistant: Every wedding brings new joys, challenges and excitement. I have loved working with a variety of vendors, as well as PTC staff, who always keep the day exciting and upbeat, even after 12 hours on our feet. While I have learned that things do not always go as smooth as we want, no matter how much planning has been done in advance, everything always ends up working out. Keeping it cool and collected is the biggest lesson I have learned. Even if there are people dancing on chairs to your right while you have the venue manager yelling at you to your left, the day is about the bride and groom and all of their loved ones around, and no matter the circumstances that surround you, you are there to provide a day that they will never forget.
Ally, PTC Assistant: The day of a wedding is the most stressful yet rewarding day. The biggest thing I learned is to always have a back up plan. No matter what something will happen that changes something small or a huge part of the day. Always be ready to figure out how to adapt and find a new plan to accommodate everyone.Even though it seems like you are planning the same event, each wedding has such distinct differences, it is like a new job every time.Being able to stay with the bride up until the ceremony is my favorite part. However, nothing beats the first look for the bride and groom. Once you see how happy they are, all of the worry just washes away and you know that it was a job well done.
Jeanette PTC Associate: My favorite part of my job here at Pop The Cork Designs is helping be apart of a couples “First Look”. Just seeing the reaction of the grooms as they see their soon to be wives is something that will never get old! One of the worst things is carrying furniture up small sets of stairs! I am not the most balanced person no matter how much yoga I do! So it is always terrifying that I am going to drop something or trip!
