Southern Wedding Wednesday
Bridesmaids Luncheon
Unlike the bridal shower or rehearsal dinner the bridesmaids luncheon is a way for the bride to show her appreciation to the family and friends that have helped make her dream day possible. At this luncheon the bride gives gifts to the attendees and shows off her well learned Southern hospitality.
Ribbon Pull
You can’t have your cake and eat it too but you can always have a little gift inside the cake. Down south there are ribbons that are baked into the bottom layer of a cake, at the end of each ribbon there is a silver charm attached that stands for something to come in the future. Examples are a ring meaning next to marry, a heart meaning new love, and a four leaf clover meaning that you have good luck coming your way. The act of choosing your ribbon and pulling it from the cake is often referred to as the “Ribbon Pull”.
