1. Whats your favorite thing about your man?
My favorite thing about Bryce…hmm…I love his smile and his sense of humor. Those things together make life interesting and far more enjoyable. I love getting him to smile, it still feels the same as when we first started dating and he flashed me a grin :)
2. How did you meet?
We met in undergrad at Towson University! Specifically we met rock climbing (I thought he had a girlfriend initially, and was unavailable…I was wrong!!) We didn’t start dating until a year after we met and after several months of hanging out constantly!! Everyone was asking if we were dating but we weren’t. Just really good friends first. I think that makes our relationship super strong. (6 years in November, WOO!)
3. How did he ask?
Bryce proposed on a hiking trip last August. We went to Gunpowder Falls, which is one of the places we used to hike a ton in college. I still remember the first time he took me hiking, I fell! I was mortified, and I was bleeding. But I digress…so we went to this little spot off the trail that we usually go to. Its right on the water and has a big rock you can lay out on. Naturally, I took my shoes off and started splashing about and jumping from rock to rock. Meanwhile, Bryce was setting up his go-pro camera to video the whole thing. He asked me if I saw any pretty rocks in the water, I said no. He asked, “what about this one?” and I spun around, and there he was on his knee (well the best that you can be on a sloping rock face) with the ring box in hand. He said something about, going on adventures together forever and thats all I remember. and smiling a lot. On the video all you see me do is smile. I didn’t cry at all. I was so excited!!

4. What themes are you trying to incorporate?
Themes….hmmm…more like a feeling? Fall. But whimsey, elegant, romantic fall?? Berry and champagne are the colors which tie into everything. So you get a feel of fall without fake leaves and all that.

5. What made you choose this venue?
Our venue is the Howard County Conservancy. Being that I have a love of photos with big fields, hills etc and that Bryce is an environmentalist, the conservancy was an easy pick. It had the backdrop that we wanted, with a beautiful building (exposed beams people!) for the reception. We never even considered another place. That was always it. We are getting married at St. Louis Catholic Church which I grew up in. The cool thing, is that the priest who is marrying us, married my parents, my older siblings and baptized myself and my younger siblings. That is very unique. Also something we knew we wanted to do from the beginning.

6. Why your date?
We knew we wanted to get married in the fall, specifically October, mid October. We started our relationship in the fall and we both have always loved that season the best. It brings a lot of good memories and feelings with it. Those first crisp days, nothing like it. And scarves, and falling leaves! Is it fall yet? Anyways we were thinking October 17, but that date was booked at the church so we moved on to the 24th! And everything fell into place.

7. How did he ask?

Bryce did ask my parents! However, because of their busy schedules he called my dad on the phone. Which unknowingly, I called my dad just to say hi at the same time. So I interrupted his permission asking! Ooops! They were thrilled, and of course said yes. We had almost been together 5 years at that point!
